DESCRIPTION
The Department of Potosi is located in southwestern Bolivia, on the
border with the Republics of Argentina and Chile. It is the highest
department in Bolivia (4,000 meters above sea level), although there
are temperate valleys in the south.
CLIMATE
It is cold and dry in almost all the department, and temperate in the
valleys. One of the coldest zones corresponds to the Uyuni Salt Field,
where the temperature usually goes down to 20º C below zero.
